The first piece of land was platted and donated
for a cemetery in the spring of 1904. The First Addition was opened in 1928, the
Second Addition in 1960, and theThird Addition was purchased in 1976. In 1973 an
alphabetical list and card file was begun from existing records. A numerical listing
of burials and owners of lots was prepared. A complete listing was prepared in 2000
by the Hooker County Genealogy Society and the Cedarview Cemetery Association.
Due to the lack of accurate record keeping, there are unknown and unmarked graves
in the older section. Copies of the Cedarview Cemetery Book or lookups are available
from the Genealogical Society.
